Buy a Photo Booth in France — Own Your System for Trade Fairs and Corporate Events

You are renting for the fourth time this year, for the fourth stand at Porte de Versailles, and the invoice is starting to look like a purchase price. Agencies and in-house event teams in France reach that point quickly, because the French fair calendar rarely leaves a system idle for long. Buying changes the maths: one capital investment instead of an open-ended rental line, plus full control over branding, scheduling and visitor data. UpReach designs its own hardware line, has it manufactured to CE and ISO 9001 standard, and has built its photo-booth software in-house since 2016. You own the system; we configure it to your corporate identity and ship it ready to run to your French address.

Why buy your system from UpReach

Your software, your interface

The touchscreen flow, the sender address of every email and the print layout carry your design — in French, English or both. Agencies place the system in front of their clients under their own name, with no UpReach branding anywhere. Because the platform is ours, a new client campaign is a configuration step, not a development project.

Current-generation AI inside our own software

Face swap, AI background removal without a green screen, 2D-to-3D depth and GlamBot slow motion run inside our platform. We integrate the leading image models and update them continuously, so a system you buy in 2026 is not stuck with an ageing engine in 2028. AI modules are booked modularly on a credit basis.

A system line built for the hundredth build-up

UpReach designs its hardware to its own specification and has it manufactured to CE and ISO 9001 standard. Cold-rolled steel housing, industrial-brightness display, professional ring light. When you own the terminal, that matters more than at a single rental: it has to survive a hundred build-ups, not one weekend.

Why repeated rentals stop adding up in France

Common frustrations in the photo booth rental business:
  • The Paris fair season stacks dates — two events in the same week and your rental supplier is already booked out.
  • Every project rental restarts the branding setup, and you pay for that work again each time.
  • Rental invoices sit in marketing OPEX; nothing ends up as an asset on the balance sheet.
  • Visitor data passes through a platform you did not choose and cannot audit.
  • Agencies cannot put a rented booth in front of a client under their own brand at a real margin.
The UpReach solutions
  • One capital investment instead of a recurring rental line — systems start at EUR 4,990 net.
  • Your branding stays loaded. The next event needs a campaign swap, not a new setup.
  • Availability is yours: two dates in the same week become a scheduling question, not an availability one.
  • Leasing as a third route if predictable monthly rates suit your budget better than a single outlay.
  • Fleet dashboard for every terminal you own: remote diagnostics, one campaign push to all systems.

Who buys a photo booth in France

Event agencies building their own rental fleet

Agencies in Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux resell photo activation as a line item, and the margin depends on who owns the hardware. With your own system the day rate stays in-house instead of being passed to a supplier. The white-label configuration means the terminal, the screens and the automated emails carry your agency name or your client brand. From roughly four to six billed event days a year, a Compact at EUR 4,990 net has covered its own cost; every further booking is margin instead of a rental invoice.

Corporate marketing teams with a full French calendar

A brand that exhibits at VivaTech, SIAL and Maison&Objet and also runs sales kick-offs, recruiting days and store openings is paying for the same activation several times a year. Owning the terminal turns that into a fixed asset with a known depreciation schedule, which is usually easier to defend in a budget round than a fluctuating rental line. Campaigns are swapped in the cloud CMS, so the marketing team changes the look for each event without a supplier call.

Luxury houses and the industrial clusters outside Paris

French luxury, fashion and beauty brands run press days, boutique openings and showroom formats where the finish of the hardware is part of the brand statement — the Mirror Pro is bought for exactly those recurring formats. In the aerospace and supplier cluster around Toulouse the driver is different: recruiting fairs, supplier days and plant anniversaries repeat every year, so a terminal that lives on site and is wheeled out on demand beats a rental booking every time.

Where owned systems earn their keep in France

Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and Paris Nord Villepinte carry the bulk of the French fair calendar: VivaTech for tech and startups, SIAL for food, Maison&Objet for design and lifestyle, Equip'Hotel for hospitality and the Salon International de l'Agriculture. Eurexpo Lyon hosts Global Industrie and Pollutec for industry and environmental technology, and the Palais des Festivals in Cannes runs MIPIM, MIPCOM and Cannes Lions for an international B2B audience. Corporate formats concentrate around the Palais des Congrès, the Carrousel du Louvre and the Grand Palais Éphémère. If your brand appears at three or more of these each year, plus internal events, the case for owning the terminal is usually made by the calendar rather than by the price list.

Specification instead of a catalogue order

In a first call we go through event volume, venues, branding and CRM. From that we recommend a hardware class and the AI modules that match — not the largest configuration, the one your French calendar actually justifies.

02

Configuration before delivery

We load your corporate identity, screens, opt-in wording and CRM connection before the system leaves Berlin. It arrives ready to run at your French address. Lead time on request; three to four weeks is a comfortable window.

03

Ownership, support and updates

The hardware is yours. The software ecosystem is included for twelve months and continues on an annual contract afterwards. Updates arrive over the air, and remote diagnostics plus spare-part supply run from our Berlin operation.

Adapts to your budget plan

Every system in our product range can be acquired exactly as dictated by your controlling department and project scope.

How many events does it take before buying beats renting in France?

Between four and six events a year, in most French setups. A multi-day rental at a Paris fair is rarely just the day rate: logistics to Porte de Versailles or Villepinte, the branding setup and the AI configuration are re-quoted for every project, so a single fair week often lands in the four-figure range net. A Compact at EUR 4,990 net therefore reaches break-even inside the first year for teams with a regular calendar, and a Pro V1 at EUR 6,990 net follows shortly after. Two factors shift the line: agencies that re-bill the system to their clients reach it faster, while a company with one activation every eighteen months should keep renting. The honest test is your own calendar for the next twelve months — count the dates, not the intentions.

Common questions about buying in France

How is a purchased system delivered to France?

By freight forwarder from our German logistics network, in a secure flight case, to the French address you name — office, warehouse or venue. France is part of the EU single market, so the shipment moves like a domestic one: no carnet, no customs clearance, no import duty. Paris is roughly ten hours by road from Berlin; Strasbourg, Lyon and Lille are closer. Lead time is confirmed on request, and three to four weeks is a comfortable window, because we configure your corporate identity, opt-in wording and CRM connection before the system ships. If the first delivery goes straight to a fair at Porte de Versailles or Paris Nord Villepinte, tell us early: both sites restrict delivery windows during build-up, and we book the slot with your stand builder. Everything the system needs on site is a 230 V socket.

From how many events does buying pay off compared with renting?

From roughly four to six event days a year. A project rental for a French fair is never only the daily rate: transport to the venue, the branding setup and the AI configuration are quoted again for every booking, so one multi-day appearance often lands in the four-figure range net. Set that against EUR 4,990 net for a Compact or EUR 6,990 net for a Pro V1 and the crossover point sits inside the first year for most teams with a regular calendar. Agencies get there faster because they re-bill the system to their own clients at a day rate. Two costs belong in the calculation on the ownership side: storage and transport between your events, and the software annual contract after the first twelve months. AI modules are credit-based in both models, so they do not shift the comparison.

Is leasing available for a French company?

Yes. Leasing is the third route alongside purchase and rental, and it suits teams that want the system permanently available without a single capital outlay. The terminal is configured, delivered and used exactly as a purchased one; only the financing differs, with a fixed monthly rate over an agreed term. Lease instalments are usually treated as operating expenses rather than an asset purchase, which changes how the cost appears in your budget — your tax adviser confirms the treatment for your entity and your accounting standard. We quote leasing per project, because the rate depends on hardware class, term and the AI configuration you book. The software rules are identical to a purchase: the UpReach software ecosystem is included for twelve months and continues on an annual contract afterwards, while AI modules stay credit-based and modular.

What happens after the twelve months of included software?

The software continues on an annual contract, which we offer directly. Those first twelve months are included with every purchase and cover the full UpReach software ecosystem: the capture engine on the terminal, the cloud CMS, the white-label frontends, the consent and lead-gating layer, the CRM connection and the fleet dashboard. After that the annual contract keeps all of it running, including over-the-air updates, so your system stays current instead of freezing at its delivery state. The conditions are stated in your quote before you buy, not afterwards. AI modules are a separate matter and always have been: face swap, AI background removal, 2D-to-3D depth and GlamBot are credit-based and booked modularly, so you pay for the volume your events actually generate rather than a flat rate you may not use.

Can we run the system in French and under our own brand?

Yes, both. The full flow is configured in the language you choose — French, English or a bilingual setup where the visitor picks at the start. That covers the touchscreen interface, the consent wording, the confirmation screen and the automated email your visitor receives. For international fairs in Paris and Cannes the bilingual variant is the usual choice, because forcing one language on a mixed audience costs you contacts. White-labelling goes further than a logo: the sender address, the print layout, the microsite and the housing wrap can carry your agency brand or your client's brand, with no UpReach mark anywhere. Because the interface runs on our own software rather than a licensed template, language and legal wording are configuration work, not development. You can push changes to a terminal you own while an event is running.

What about warranty, service and spare parts?

What about warranty, service and spare parts?

How does GDPR work when we own the system?

As the owner you are the data controller, and the system is built so you can act like one. Consent is collected on the touchscreen with separate, unticked checkboxes for contact details, image rights and marketing use, so there is no bundling breach under the French implementation of the GDPR. You configure which fields are captured and how long they are retained; every record carries a cryptographically secured consent timestamp, which is what a CNIL enquiry or an internal audit asks for. Where UpReach processes data on your behalf, we provide a data processing agreement under Article 28 and technical documentation of the data flows. The AI image processing runs GDPR-compliantly and the platform is EU-AI-Act-ready. For particularly sensitive deployments an edge/offline mode is bookable as an option.
